Old Fort Jackson and Savannah Riverboat Cruises have partnered to kick off Savannah’s 150th Civil War anniversary commemoration. Guests will board  the Riverboat from the historic riverfront as they are welcomed by uniformed Civil War soldiers and live entertainment. As the boat follows the path of the original soldiers toward Old Fort Jackson, guests will experience live period music while they dine on a delicious and authentic southern dinner buffet.  Our buffet features tender and juicy game hen halves with roasted chestnut dressing, sliced pork sausages braised with fresh apples, Southern fried chicken, sweet corn cakes, fried cabbage with bacon & much, much more!

Upon their arrival to Old Fort Jackson, guests will be welcomed by the fort’s honor guard and escorted inside the fort. As they cross the drawbridge, the guests will enter the year 1861; watching soldiers prepare the fort and practice their marching and artillery drills. Guests will have the opportunity to interact with the soldiers of Old Fort Jackson and live period music will fill the air of the fort while leading up to the climax of the evening, a live firing of one of the largest and oldest original artillery pieces in the country!

Upon departure from Old Fort Jackson, guests will savor sweet Savannah treats on their return voyage aboard Savannah Riverboat Cruises. This 3 hour cruise package is unique to Savannah, as well as the entire Southeast. We invite everyone to come to Savannah and enjoy this unique commemoration.
